Steven Daniels was born in Lancashire and has been involved in IT Managed Service Businesses for over a decade.

He was Sales Director at F. H. Brown Office Technologies, a Lloyds Development Capital backed business, before its sale to Azzurri Communications in 2001.

Following the acquisition, Steven joined Azzurri Communication's management team as a Divisional Director. During this time, with the backing of 3i, the company acquired over 16 businesses and became one of the fastest growing companies in the UK eventually being sold to PPM Capital in 2006. Steven left Azzurri in 2008 to join BES Consulting working again with Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) and remained a main board director until it was sold in 2009. In March 2010 Steven joined the board of Matrix as part of LDC's investment in the company.
